hello from up here โœฆ

Hi, I'm manha.

a dev in the way a tomato is a fruit.

hobbyist โ€” i know what i need and sometimes at the right times. more often than nought, though.

scroll down. there's something at the bottom

the tech stack, honestly

no corporate skill bars here.

things i actually know

  • html
  • css
  • typescript
  • git
  • and such

(i google these too.)

things i google every single time

  • flexbox centering
  • regex
  • git push --force consequences

things i don't know

literally everything else.

splash! you made it. now introducing:

project dolphin

biggest project rn

a man-overboard detector, for boats.

someone falls off a boat, the boat notices, beeps loudly, and remembers exactly where it happened. that's the idea. it's a wearable jacket module plus a boat module, both running on esp32s.

  1. the jacket an imu keeps an eye on motion and sends telemetry over esp-now, 10 times a second (20 when something looks off).
  2. the boat listens, and checks how strong each packet's signal is. weak signal = jacket probably far away.
  3. the verdict weird motion and a weak signal? that's a man-overboard. buzzer goes off, gps locks the spot. (just bumping into something on deck doesn't count. that's the point of checking both.)
  4. your phone connects straight to the boat's own wi-fi for a live dashboard. no internet needed, which is handy at sea.
  • esp32-c3 supermini
  • esp32 devkit v1
  • mpu6050
  • neo-6m gps
  • esp-now
  • arduino

status: prototype 1, in active development. very much an experiment, and not certified safety gear.
